Joining the ‘Gang’.

Politics and a Pasta Bake.

I’ve just spent a brilliant couple of days workshopping Steve Waters new play Limehouse for the Donmar. Set over one long evening, it tells the story of the formation of the SDP by ‘the Gang of Four’.', 'Polly Findlay (who I’ve worked with twice) is directing and myself, Nadia Albina and Hywel Morgan stepped in to help out doing the workshop with the already cast Debra Gillett and Tom Goodman-Hill.', 'As well as discussing the current draft and doing a ‘stumble through’ at the end of the last day, in order to see how messy the play could become, we carried out a mass improvisation cooking a Pasta Bake in the Donmar kitchen whilst attempting to create a new season at the National Theatre (the bake was tasty, the season anything but) and we attempted to work out the particulars of forming a new political party (not a good idea with a bunch of actors).', 'I had a blast, so thank you all.', 'The plays going to be brilliant, and totally fascinating… and who knows maybe it will include the hap hazard cooking of a pasta bake!', 'Limehouse will run at the Donmar Warehouse from 8 March to 15 April, with previews from 2 March.
